WELCOME TO EQUUS TRAILERS
We are builders of 100% Australian made horse floats for 25 years, and, still under our founding management. Our factory is in the Northern Victorian regional centre of Kyabram, where we build, our floats, from the ground up. Totally built in Australia.
As passionate supporters of Australian manufacturing and jobs we strive to build floats of the highest quality with emphasis on horse comfort and safety and have floats located throughout Australia.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Whilst customer satisfaction has always been our main goal, our overarching focus is to achieve comfort and safety for the horses travelling in our horse floats.
As horse owners, and based upon decades of broad experience, we are in the fortunate position to be able to meaningfully consult with clients to the end of achieving the best possible outcome for their horses.
We have always encouraged clients’ views, listened to, and valued considered opinion.
HORSE FLOATS SAFETY
Is our priority. Our stall areas are devoid of sharp edges, protrusions on the rump stall wall, head dividers with bars set too far apart – and the list goes on.
We use 10 mm natural dimpled rubber to the floor in one continuous length, with superior anti slip properties.
We consult with clients to ensure stalls are adequate in length and width, ensuring their horse has ample head and neck movement when travelling.
HORSE FLOATS COMFORT
Four roof vents are standard inclusions, strategically placed to ensure no horse should ever travel hot, when the horse float is in motion.
Our dividers and head dividers are designed and latched to minimise rattling noise.
A relaxed horse with freedom of movement upon arrival at destination is the best way to please a client!

OUR CHASSIS
The building block/foundation of any trailer and is critical to ensuring flooring safety and towing safety.
To this end, two features of our chassis build should be noted:
- Our floor joists are placed 190 mm apart.
- 2. Our drawbar extends back to the front spring hangers in all floats, irrespective of body length.
Axles are placed so that 150 kg to 160 kg in weight is placed upon the ball of the tow vehicle.
The towing result speaks for itself.
